of the 13th — Early 21st Centuries
(Dugbima Chimitdorjin and His Latest Works)

Abstract. The main focus of the present paper is the history of Mongolian writing, an enduring ancient tradition of vertical script. It has been the subject of many works by researchers in various fields of knowledge. One of the most recent is the book From the History of Mongolian Writing of the 13th — early 21st Centuries by Dugbima Chimitdorzhin, a research fellow at the Aginsky Datsan “Dechen Lkhundubling”, a specialist in the history of Buddhism in Russia. The article highlights the main ideas of the book and contains some comments on it.
