“SEVEN PLANETS” BY MUHAMMED RIZA: THE NARRATIVE SOURCE OF THE KHANATE ERA
Abstract. The article covers the problem of narrative structure in the chronicle Es‑sebu’s‑seyyâr fi ahbar‑i mulük‑i Tatar (“Seven Planets in Report About Tatar Rulers”) by the 18th century chronicler Seyid Muhammed Riza. The work under consideration is one of the samples of court historiography of the Crimean Khanate. It belongs to the category of general histories. The brief information about the chronicler's personality is given. With regard to the content, the book by Muhammed Riza can be divided into two parts: (i) the history of the Crimean Khanate's forerunners from the ancient times; (ii) the direct history of the Crimean Khanate. The specific character of the Chronicle is the link of the Crimean Khanate with the preceding history.
