Presenting A. J. Arberry's Unpublished Article

Abstract. Previously unpublished text of the article by late Prof. Arthur John Arberry is devoted to the detailed presentation of the MS 3578 kept in the Chester Beatty Library. The unique work by Abu ‘Abd Allah al-Husayn b. Muhammad al-Damaghani (lived before 6th/12th century) is entitled Al-Mujjarad fi l-hikayat or Al-Durar al-munazzihat fi mujarrad al-hikayat. The publication contains also a foreword by Prof. Dr. Qasim Al-Samarrai who was keeping the handwritten copy of the article by Arberry in his private archive and kindly granted it to Manuscripta Orientalia for publication. The handwritten text by Arberry was deciphered and prepared for publication by Anna Yu. Kudriavtceva (St. Petersburg). The final version was checked by Prof. Al-Samarrai. The article by Prof. Arthur John Arberry is published with slight changes in the author's redaction.
