Abstract: The article describes the destiny of a brilliant Slovene-Polish scholar Marijan Molé (1924—1963) who became a great expert in both pre-Islamic and post-Islamic Iranian studies and whose contribution to the both fields, unfortunately, had not have an opportunity to be fully appreciated as it certainly deserves. Regrettably for Iranian studies, some of his works listed in the article were not published during his lifetime while others became known only recently thanks to a detailed examination of his archives held by the Bibliothèque Universitaire des Languages et Civilisations (BULAC) and the Institut de Recherche et d’Histoire des Textes (IRHT) in Paris.
