Dr. Anton A. Alexeev — Vice Dean, Associate Professor, Faculty of Oriental Studies, St. Petersburg University, spe­cialist in the Arabic and Persian Medieval historiography, author of a number of articles in the field.

Dr. Igor A. Alimov — Head of the Department of East and Southwest Asia of the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropol­ogy and Ethnography (Kunstkamera), Russian Academy of Sciences, specialist in Far Eastern ethno‑cultural texts. Author of the series of monographs in the field.

Mr. Mustafa Dehqan, MA — specialist in Kurdish Studies with an interest in the literature and religions of Kurdistān. He earned a bachelor's degree in Historical Studies and a master's in Historical Linguistics from the University of Tehrān. Author of the numerous articles in the field.

Prof. Dr. Aftandil Erkinov — Professor at the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies. Specialist in Jaghatā’ī and Persian literature of Central Asia, author of numerous articles on Turkic and Persian literature and manuscripts of Central Asia in 15th — beginning of the 20th centuries.

Mr. Isaac Donoso Jiménez — professor at the Philippine Normal University in Manila. He has grades in Arab Philology (2001), Hispanic Philology (2003) and Humanities (2003) by the University of Alicante (Spain); Master of Arts in Islamic Studies (2008) by the University of the Philippines. He has won twice (in 2004 and 2008) the Ibn al-‘Abbār Research Prize, the most important Spanish recognition in Islamic Studies. Editor of the volume “More Hispanic that We Admit. Insights into Philippine Cultural History” (2008) he is currently finishing the edition of a general volume about Islam in the Philip­pines, and the University of the Philippines Press is going to publish his book “Islamic Far East. Ethnogenesis of the Philip­pine Islam”. Specialist in Islamic and Philippine Studies, at the present he finishes his PhD in the University of Alicante with a thesis on the Islamization of the Philippine Archipelago.

Dr. Boris V. Norik — Fellow researcher of the Oriental Manuscripts and Documents Department of the Institute of Ori­ental Manuscripts Russian Academy of Sciences, specialist in late medieval poetry in Central Asia and medieval book cul­ture in Iran and Central Asia. 

Mrs. Ruth Prosser is an accredited paper conservator with over twenty-five years experience of working in both the pub­lic and private sector. Currently working as an independent conservator, she has a special interest in the conservation of pith. In the course of her research into the conservation of pith paintings, she has travelled extensively visiting conservation work­shops, giving presentations and examining pith paintings in many public collections. She was co-author of an article on pith paintings recently published for the Royal Botanic Gardens, London. 

Dr. Wilhelm Östberg  Associate Professor in Social Anthropology, a research fellow at the Department of Human Ge­ography, Stockholm University, and former Curator of the Africa collection at the Museum of Ethnography in Stockholm. 

Dr. Brian Singer obtained a PhD in organic chemistry from Leeds University in 1976. From 1984, he taught art conser­vation chemistry in Gateshead College and later in Newcastle Polytechnic, where he developed a research interest in the analysis of artists' materials. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Northumbria University where he teaches art conservation science and has research interests in: the development of techniques for the analysis of modern artists' materials; the investi­gation of the materials and techniques of certain 20th century artists; the development of conservation treatments and the investigation of the degradation of paper supports.

Prof. Dr. Shimon M. Iakerson — Leading researcher at the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, Russian Academy of Sci­ences, specialist in the History of Hebrew manuscripts and incunabula, author of a series of monographs and articles.

 

Notes to Contributors

Manuscripts must be written in English.

Manuscripts must be clearly typewritten with numbered pages, double linespacing and wide margins throughout. The ti­tle should be as brief and informative as possible. The institute at which the work has been done should be indicated at the head of each paper. Authors are requested to include their e‑mail address if one is available.
