Dynamics of the Integration of Foreign Vocabulary into the Old Anatolian‑Turkic Language System in the 13th—15th Centuries (on the Material of Phonological and Morphological Subsystems of Monuments in Old Anatolian‑Turkic Language)

Abstract. This article is devoted to the quantitative analysis of the phonological subsystem of the Old Anatolian-Turkic on the material of the literary monuments of the 13th and 15th centuries created in Asia Minor. The first monument is called Çarh-name (“The Wheel of Fate”), it was written by Ahmed Fakih, thinker and religious figure; this mesnevî is the first written literary Turkic monument of Asia Minor to reach us. Written tradition, laid in this monument, is reflected in the text of the Kıssa-i Melik Danışmend (“The Tale of Melik Danishmend”), the language of which the researchers date to the 15th century, although the so-called “Leningrad” manuscript of this monument dates back to 1622. The article shows the process of integration into the phonological system of Old Anatolian-Turkic of new units that got into the language together with the borrowed Arab-Persian vocabulary. Conclusions are drawn about the new position in the phonological system of the language in question of some of its units. This article is one of the publications in the series of publications in the framework of the project dedicated to the diachrony of the Turkic languages of Asia Minor.
