Abstract: The represented essay discusses the origin of term sumah used in the Caucasus and the Near East to nominate a type of ornamental weft wrapping structure, and made in this structure flatwoven carpets.
II. The Term namad (felt) of the Peoples of Northern Eurasia

Abstract: The article surveys the art of felting in the context of textile industry of the people of Eurasia, and suggests some considerations about the term namad, which goes back to the Ancient Iranian and East Caucasian roots NEI- and NAS/NES.
